Detailed information about NSP supplement certificates
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
GMP is a document confirming the compliance of our production facilities and all products manufactured there (100% of supplements and cosmetics by Nature's Sunshine Products, Inc.) with Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
GMP is an international quality standard that defines the parameters of every production stage - from the material of the workshop floor and the number of microorganisms per cubic meter of air to employee clothing and product packaging labeling. We are proud to be among the companies holding this certificate. Read more on this page.
USDA (United States Department of Agriculture)
USDA is the United States federal executive department. It issues Free Sale Certificates to Nature's Sunshine, confirming that the company's products are in free circulation within the US, and the company itself undergoes regular inspections by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. Such certificates are issued for each individual product and are necessary for product registration in other markets. There are internal documents kept by the company and registration specialists, and public ones posted below. Without this certificate, it is impossible to obtain all other certificates.
NSF International
NSF International - founded in 1944, the organization's mission is to protect and improve global human health. Manufacturers, regulators, and consumers look to the organization to develop public health standards and certifications that help protect food, water, consumer products, and the environment. As an independent accredited organization, it tests, audits, and certifies products and systems, as well as providing education and risk management.
NSF is not a government organization and is not controlled by industrial structures. Its independent status guarantees that products and equipment are tested and evaluated by the organization absolutely impartially. To earn the right to use the NSF mark, a manufacturer must not only undergo a strict product evaluation and testing procedure but also periodic unscheduled rigorous factory inspections.
In our company's case, this certificate confirms that the company manufactures its products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as specified in NSF / ANSI 173-2013, Dietary Supplements, Section 8. These requirements align with the published GMP regulation for dietary supplements defined in 21 CFR § 111, which was published by the FDA in June 2007. Read more on the official NSF International website.
FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
FDA - Food and Drug Administration. This body is not a certifying but a controlling one. It is this administration that issues requirements for various industries; by observing them, a manufacturer can receive a GMP certificate. Read more on the official FDA website.
American manufacturers of dietary supplements must comply with FDA requirements. If remarks arise during an inspection, the FDA issues an order to the manufacturer to make necessary changes and take measures to comply with requirements. If there are no remarks, the manufacturer receives a special confirming number — "approval number".
Nature's Sunshine has passed all audits without issued orders, "approval number": 14491296482. The company is listed in the FDA registry.
ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 - This standard (International Organization for Standardization) describes the quality management system and forms a unified approach to understanding what an organization's management system should be like ensuring its activities are of the highest quality regarding product manufacturing, interaction with consumers, as well as internally regarding its employees.
WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency)
WADA - World Anti-Doping Agency. An independent organization coordinating the fight against doping in sports, created with the support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The WADA certificate confirms the absence of prohibited components in the products and allows their use by athletes participating in various competitions, including the Olympic Games.
TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration)
TGA - Therapeutic Goods Administration. A division of the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care, established under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth). This product certificate was obtained because the products are available for purchase in Australia. Read more about TGA on the official website.
