Sunshine Heroes Foundation

Sunshine Heroes Foundation logo

Last year, together with the Sunshine Heroes Foundation, Nature's Sunshine helped fund construction of a Sunshine Children’s Centre in the Dominican Republic. More than half the population there receives less than one-fifth of the country’s GDP, so many people lack adequate healthcare and education.

This ninth Sunshine children’s centre will offer vocational training and various medical services, and with a basketball court next to the building it will give children a place to play.

Overview

Nature's Sunshine continually strives to foster care and help for others among all its distributors. For many years we have shared the health and prosperity we have been blessed with through our business and charitable efforts. More recently we have partnered with the Sunshine Heroes Foundation on many of our charitable initiatives.

As a lead sponsor and founder, Nature's Sunshine has helped Sunshine Heroes renovate children’s hospitals in Russia, build schools in Africa, bring clean water to thousands of children across Asia, and create Sunshine Children’s Centres throughout Central America. Going forward, Nature's Sunshine will continue to support the Sunshine Heroes Foundation as they work to improve the lives and opportunities of children worldwide.

Sunshine Heroes projects

2015 — Panama

In 2015 Sunshine Heroes built their eighth children’s centre in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Equipped with a learning centre and computer lab, library, clinic, playground and even a small skate park, the centre will serve more than 3,000 people a year. It is also the first and only American Institute for Safety and Health training centre in Panama.

2014 — Nicaragua

In 2014 Sunshine Heroes built their seventh Children’s Centre, with a clinic, library, garden and playground. The centre will serve more than 3,000 people a year and is staffed and sponsored by the government and local communities. Watch the video below to learn more about this fantastic project!

2013 — Thailand

Sunshine Heroes helped provide Bio-Sand water filters to four villages in northern Thailand, bringing clean drinking water to more than 4,000 people in those remote areas. Built with local expertise and materials, the filters can last for decades because they work through natural processes and need no electricity, fuel or chemicals.
